Introduction
 
 

The Graduate Institute of Basic Medicine is located at the College of Medicine. The institute was established in August 2005. The first institute director was Professor Jaang Wang, then Professor Bin-Huei Chen from August 2006 and Professor Su-Jane Wang from August 2009. The Professor Yi-Ju Tsai is the fourth institute director. As well as set up the Master program, this institute also jointly accepts doctoral students with the Ph.D. Program in Nutrition & Food  Science (Biomedical group) and the Department of Chemistry (Biomedical Chemistry group) since 2007 and 2009, respectively.

With a vision to cultivate personnel for foundation medical research, the institute continuously invests in medical-related institutions and biomedicine technology research and development industries. The institution actively solicits national and international scholars with outstanding skills in biomedical research, using limited resources to create a high-quality research and teaching environment. The research and teaching aspect includes neuroscience, cell biology, molecular biology, tumor biology, and molecular genetics.
